Inventions in Solitude was born during the great pandemic lockdown of 2020. Only days before the concert was to take place, a lockdown was announced and our concert was cancelled! But we pushed back andante were allowed tp broadcast from the venue without an audience.
The programme included my new work, Inventions in Solitude for solo piano and a trio for violin, cello and piano. There was also music by the luminaries Weinberg, Ligeti, Lutoslawsky and a rare performance of two songs from Jewish Folk Poetry by Shostakovich.
To play this special music we brought together a group of virtuoso musicians: violinist Natasha Sachsenmeier, cellist Timothée Botbol, and pianists Ilya Chetverikov, Maki Sekiya and Matthew Schellhorn.
