Following on from our incredibly successful concert, Inventions in Solitude, last November, I am really pleased to be writing to let you know that the next concert will be taking place with an audience at the Holywell Music Room on Sunday May 23rd at 1700.
The programme includes the premier of my piano trio, True Self, with a just-completed finale, played by pianist Ilya Chetverikov, violinist Natasha Sachsenmeier and cellist Timothée Botbol
You may remember the wonderful boy singers who performed Shostakovich songs in the last concert and I am pleased to announce the return of Archie White, Ivan Chetverikov and Maki Sekiya for the premier of my Three Riddles for two treble voices and piano. These songs are settings of poems contained in the Exeter book of Riddles, an extraordinary collection from the 11th century containing kennings and puzzles, the origins of which lie in antiquity. In addition, there will be pieces for solo Cello by Cassado and Sollima, played by Timothée Botbol and exquisite music for solo piano by the Japanese composer Satoh, played by Maki Sekyia
Unfortunately we won’t be live streaming this time-there simply wouldn’t be any room for the audience- and If you are only able to watch online I’ll let you know when a video recording is available.
I am thrilled that at last we can all meet in person for a real concert. Regulations require us to severely limit the seating so don’t wait too long to buy a ticket, there will not be any tickets at the door! To attend the live concert
